The Ambassador Hotel

The Ambassador Hotel is one of the most spectacular hotels in Cape Town. It is centrally located in Bantry Bay on the Atlantic coastline, surrounded by areas such as the Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay, and within close proximity to Cape Point and the botanical gardens of Kirstenbosch.

Most of the 97 elegant air-conditioned bedrooms, executive suites and the luxurious two-bedroomed penthouse have views of the sea, with a bonus from some balconies of mystical Lion's Head as a backdrop. All have tea and coffee makers, satellite television, telephone voice-mail and 24-hour room service. Suites have fully-equipped and fully-serviced kitchens.

The Ambassador is renowned for its cuisine and wine list. Feast on fresh prawns, linefish, ostrich fillet and other delicacies, and be magnetized by the waves below. Or have a barbecue beside the pool, almost on the rocks!

The pool was designed to let you unwind... It's right on the shoreline. If you can drag yourself away from the pool and the cuisine, the hotel will take you in their complimentary shuttle to the V&A Waterfront, one of South Africa’s premier tourist retail and dining destinations. You can walk to Clifton and even Camps Bay, with their postcard perfect world-famous bikini beaches or take a tour up Table Mountain, the glorious winelands, Cape Point, Robben Island or any of our wondrous sights.

The hotel offers same-day laundry and dry cleaning services. You'll also find a travel clinic, a pharmacy and a Mediterranean delicatessen. Baby sitting is available on request.

The conference rooms consist of two adjoining conference rooms, utilising "On the Rocks", the cocktail lounge on the ground floor for refreshment breaks (smoking venue).
