Bradach Manor

Bradach Manor is an imposing building offering unrivalled views over the Knysna Lagoon and through the Heads out to the Indian Ocean. The origins of the building are obscure but it has been built in the form of a small castle and dominates the hillside above the town. It is the first building that you notice driving in from Cape Town, across the lagoon.

Bradach Manor is a comfortable, 4-star guest house, offering visitors the ideal setting from which to explore the wonders of the Garden Route.

Guests have a choice of seven individually decorated rooms. The spacious honeymoon suite features a spa bath and private balcony. All the rooms are fully serviced with en-suite bathrooms, fans for summer, heaters for winter, safes and bar fridges, tea/coffee facilities and televisions with DStv and SABC channels.

The room types are as follows:

The dining room overlooks the water and leads onto a long verandah and the pool deck below.

Knysna is at the heart of the Garden Route and offers the perfect stopover between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Boat trips across the Lagoon and around the Heads offer a unique insight into this spectacular region and access to the Featherbed Nature Reserve on the western head. Knysna also has its own Waterfront, Knysna Quays, with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and delicatessens. Around Knysna are many spectacular drives, the Swartberg Pass, the Seweweekspoort Pass and Meiringspoort, offering access to the dry interior of the Little Karoo. Oudtshoorn, an easy drive from Knysna, is the capital of the ostrich farming industry and the Cango Caves – a series of underground caverns - are nearby.

Walks, horse-rides and mountain bikes in the Knysna Forest (where the rare Knysna elephant is still to be found), sun swept beaches, bungee-jumping, animal sanctuaries and the Outeniqua Tjoe Choo – a spectacular steam-train journey through the Kaaimans River Gorge from Knysna to George are just a few of the pursuits of Knysna.

From Bradach Manor you are centrally based to explore this spectacular area and to experience activities that include whale-watching, mountain-biking, hiking and sailing. For the avid golfer, five of South Africa’s best golf courses are situated nearby.
