Tau Game Lodge

Tau Game Lodge, the place of the lion, overlooks a vast natural waterhole where the game come down to drink. Tau is situated in the "malaria free" Madikwe Game Reserve.

TEach en-suite, air-conditioned chalet comes complete with a private wooden deck and out-door showerhirty rustic thatched chalets, accommodating up to 60 guests, are spread out in U-formation on either side of the lodge, offering excellent views of animals approaching the water from the opposite bank.

The two corner units, on either side (and furthest away from) the lodge, are linked to the next-door unit by a communal outdoor lounge allowing them to be utilised by two couples traveling together, or by parents with children.

There are 30 chalets at Tau
Designed to reflect the surroundings, the lodge makes use of the natural resources wherever possible. The main area is two-leveled and has a comfortable lounge, curio shop and conference facilities, as well as a 'semi open-air' bar and dinning-room which overlook the waterhole.

Unusual African artifacts, masks and large rugs decorate the elevated-ceilinged foyer and vivid animal-print fabrics brighten the settees in the upside bar.

Delicious buffet breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the main building or on the verandah next to the plunge pool while dinner is served in a cosy boma under the stars.

Game drives in open vehicles, and guided bush walks will be conducted with experienced rangers and trackers who will show you the wonders of the African bushveld.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.
