Chichele Presidential Lodge

Chichele Presidential Lodge was originally constructed as a private residential retreat for the former President of Zambia – Dr Kenneth Kaunda. Chichele occupies one of the most breathtaking sites in the entire South Luangwa National Park, home to elephants, lions, their prey and their habitats. With its magnificent hilltop position inside one of Africa’s most prolific game-viewing areas, Chichele has been designed to complement its natural surroundings.

In order to exploit the wonderful floodplain vistas, 10 elegant Victorian style lodges are built along the edge of the hillside, each giving guests a private panoramic view. Quality furnishings and discreet service provide the necessary level of comfort expected by the upmarket visitor. All the en-suite accommodation is air conditioned and each room has a mini bar is at your disposal.

Meal times are at the usually accepted times but can be dependent on game drives and will vary seasonally. All meals are table d'hôte with a wide selection of dishes. Meal venues are varied from the luxurious in-door dining room to the scenic verandahs and boma area outside. Port and cigars are served after dinner. The central facilities include a swimming pool and curio shop. Conference facilities are also available.

Children: Children 6 years and older are welcome. Children under 6 years can only be accepted through prior arrangement with management.
